2024 Ford Raptor Build | Why This Is the Best Adventure Truck For me!
Adventure king? Yeah, I said it. The all-new 2024 Ford Raptor is not just the truck for truck enthusiasts; it's also packed with extra features that oftentimes get overlooked. As if 450hp and 510-foot pounds of torque weren't enough to pique your interest, the 2024 Ford Raptor comes packed with features that get overlooked and seem undervalued for adventure truck guys like myself. In today's video, we will talk about why this truck, the 2024 Ford Raptor, is hands down the best pick for the overlanders, desert runners, and street truck guys all wrapped up into one package.

    That's a beautiful van! I just got one with only 137k. Its a custom Chevy Express Regency! I started fixing it up a few days ago. I was blessed with the van tho! I honestly couldn't afford to go out and buy a Van so one of my super best in the world Subscriber gave me a Van! This is the 1st time in my entire life that someone has given me something great for free! I won't lie. I cried.. Happy tears.. I gave him and his wife a bag of my paydirt as a gift for helping me out in such a big way! I plan on giving them some gold from every spot I go to. Because without the van I'd be stuck! To keep the positive power flowing i gave my gmc 3500 to a old guy who lives off grid in the woods! He cried like I did! The feeling of helping someone else who really needs it is the best feeling in the world!! Great Video! Keep up the great work!🏆🏆🏆

    I recently traded my '22 Outback Wilderness for an "adventure" vehicle. I looked at the Ranger Raptor, but was unwilling to pay a dealer markup. I ended up with the Chevy Colorado ZR2, which shocked - SHOCKED - me. So far, I love it. Performs better than I expected... looks great... has taken me places the Outback couldn't... but I'm still shocked that I got a Chevy. I look forward to some Raptor content!

    I already have a hi flow compressor, and it has heavy duty clamps that go right onto the battery which is nice to feed it with direct source power. And I already have the STOCK skid plates, which many will argue are not as tough as some aftermarket. But I would argue they are plenty tough enough. I'm not talking about the Engine skid that comes with the Wilderness. I have a full 5 piece set of optional skids sold by Subaru (made in China tho). The thing is, a lot of these super bullet proof aftermarket skids made their bones on body on frame trucks and 4x4's. You could jack up the vehicle with those skids. Our Wilderness is a unibody un build. It's strong, but it's not designed to have undentable skid plates hammering on the mounting locations which can deform and push up these areas if abused. The OEM recommended plates are Thick where they need to be and hard where they need to be, but they are also designed to deform and take some of the shock, both because of their mounts, which can push and deflect, and because of the armor itself, which is touch, but also designed to absorbe shock via deformation. Think of old bumpers from the 40's vs new bumpers of today. Two different stategies. So I got two of these 5 in the bag. Nice. The Aix controller, I just don't need it,.. yet.But if it's cheap, maybe I will look into it. It would be nice to have some camping ambiance lighting. Lift,.. I'm so happy with what I have now, that I am afraid to mess it up. I have always thought that as my struts wear out, I would replace them with flatout struts that are more capable down the road, but I am not sure an actual lift is needed for the kinds of things I do. But that bar in front. WOW. What a great idea. I have engineered many solutions in my head for how I would use those two front tow points together, but this is the best solution I have seen yet, and it is always ready to go, and looks great as well. Solves so many problems, and can be used to mount lights if I ever feel the need to go down that road, which I likely would, if I bought this bar. So thanks! I'm definitely going to check out that front bumper bar. I'm glad I cought this video. Databyter

    Have to say I am not excited with this dual battery setup. You could have run a lithium battery in the rear of the car being charged by a Redarc DC charger. Key benefits would be lithium batteries are a third of the weight and you can take them down to 90% discharged instead of AGM which only allows for 50% discharged. Some lithium batteries have a bluetooth enabled BMS (battery management system) where you can see on your mobile app things like current draw, charging rate, number of cycles, depth of discharge and health of the battery. I have successfully run this configuration in two different cars since 2018.

    • @roamingwithjosh
      @roamingwithjosh 4 дні тому

      Its also much more expensive. I have no issue with lithium or redarc, but price can be a problem for some.

    Awesome channel and Video. I was thinking it looks difficult then I saw you had your baby with you. That gave me inspiration 😊. What tires are you using ? Would stock tires make it without getting torn on those rocks? Some of the trails looks like there are sharp rocks and stones everywhere.

    • @roamingwithjosh
      @roamingwithjosh 6 днів тому

      Thanks for the comment! I can't say for sure that the stock tires wouldn't make it because I never tried. I switched to BFG KO2's on my 2022 OBW and I have Nitto Nomad Grapplers on my 2024.

    So…. Before I blow myself up. If I have a fuse box already installed can I just take off the power source and connect the Bluetti without installing a new fuse box? Is it really that easy?

    • @roamingwithjosh
      @roamingwithjosh 6 днів тому

      I'm assuming you're talking about already having a Blue Sea fuse box or something similar. So, if that is the case, all you have to do is remove your existing power source and install your bluetti power source. It really is that easy.

    Thanks Josh! New to GX overland building. What about suspension updates if you don't anticipate crazy routes?

    • @roamingwithjosh
      @roamingwithjosh 6 днів тому

      Here is the link for the suspension I used - adventurerigshop.com/collections/lexus-suspension/products/dobinsons-1-5-to-3-5-ims-lift-kit-for-gx460-2010-2022?variant=45432498389268 I went 2.5" in the front and 200-400 heavy rear load weight. The truck rides like a cadillac and I couldn't be happier with it. I also don't really get into the super difficult routes and plan to keep it pretty simple with this build. That said, this suspension could very easily handle harder trails if you ever found yourself in that situation, like most of us do from time to time.

    • @roamingwithjosh
      @roamingwithjosh 13 днів тому

      I'm not sure I used the term "wore out" but what I will say is that after 30k miles the car riding on the ironman lift became very clunky. Keep in mind that the ironman kit is what most would consider on other vehicles as a "budget suspension." I think getting 30k miles out of a $1,000 suspension is pretty decent in relative terms. I'm not sure how far off the beaten path you take your subaru, but you will probably be just fine with the factory setup. If you do want to get the ironman suspension you can save 5% at adventurerigshop.com

    You went over the product in great detail, which was good…but you didn’t use it at all. Especially for a 20 minute commercial, you didn’t even test out the product. For that price, I would like to know if it actually works as advertised or if you ran into any hiccups with it in real world testing. I get it, they gave it to for free in exchange for the ad, but I would rather see someone actually put it to use and then let us know how it works before posting a video.

    Cruise at 80-85? We have 55 MPH speed limits where I live and most people drive 60-65. 85MPH is reckless driving and loss of your Driver license plus 8-10 points on your driver license. I haven't hit 85 in about 20-25 years.
